Proud to be an Indian

Something recently that I have experienced and could not wait to share with everybody :

It was the Eve of the Opening Ceremony of Brisbane Festival. We were at South Bank beside the Brisbane River. There were thousands of people around. It was jam packed, not even a place to stand straight. Completely packed with people of different ages - kids, couples, gang of friends, old people, men ,women. People across the city had come here to see the ceremony.
Australian Defence Force put up a beautiful air show with different kinds of planes. Just awesome. As the sun sets and it becomes dark the fireworks goes on for 15 mins. They put up all kinds of fire works with blasting music. It is done at the same time form three different points and if you are lucky enough to be in the tallest building in Brisbane -"Aurora Towers" 69 storeys residential building , you would be able to see all the three views of the show.

The air show and drill was over and was eagerly waiting for the roar of the F-111 Jets. The roar of the F-111 strike jets signals the start of the spectacular fireworks display. And soon two F-111 Jets strikes the sky, screaming through the air, and then started the fireworks with amazing music. The fire works were based on the music being played, very beautifully organized.

What amazed me was the opening song : "JAI HO" - by A.R. Rahaman. Just imagine F-111 Jets screaming through the sky , fireworks on and then a loud music and the first word you hear is "Jai Ho...". That particular moment I felt as if I am in India, with thousands of foreigners around me. It was a different feeling and will remain with me in my memories throughout my life.

Proud to be an Indian.

Keep smiling and keep visiting.
Cheers !!!
